On 2 January 2026, the LST Projects team came together at the Utilita Bowl for our annual Strategy Day a valuable opportunity to reflect on the year just gone and focus on the year ahead.
This year, we introduced a new format, moving away from traditional presentations and instead hosting panel-style conversations across departments. The aim was simple: to strengthen understanding, alignment and collaboration across the business.
By opening up these discussions, team members were able to learn more about how different parts of LST operate, how decisions are made, and how every role contributes to successful delivery from start to finish.
A key theme throughout the day was unity, ensuring everyone understands not just their own role, but how it connects to the wider business.
“When people understand their role in the wider process, it creates clarity and helps the business move forward together.” — Shaun Tuffin, Director
That shared understanding is central to how LST continues to grow, adapt and deliver consistently.
At the front end of the business, strong relationships and long-term thinking play a vital role in securing the right projects.
“Business development is about nurturing relationships and building trust, knowing that we have the right people across the business to deliver for our clients.” — Patrick Mballa, Sales & Business Development Director
Those relationships, built over time, create the foundation for sustainable growth and repeat work.
Strong delivery relies on clear commercial direction and early alignment across teams.
“Setting clear expectations early and supporting teams properly gives everyone the confidence to deliver projects successfully.” — Peter Geen, Commercial Director
This approach helps ensure consistency across projects and supports teams at every stage of delivery.
Early collaboration across estimating, commercial and the supply chain is critical in setting projects up for success.
“It’s not just about pricing a job - it’s about working closely with the supply chain and the wider team early on, so projects are properly planned from the outset.” — Lee Mullen, Estimating Director
That joined-up approach helps create realistic programmes and strong foundations for delivery.
Supporting that process day to day is close coordination across teams.
“Keeping information clear, organised and flowing between teams makes a real difference to how smoothly projects move forward.” — Lisa Alexander, Estimating Coordinator
Clear communication at this stage helps ensure everyone is aligned from the very beginning.
Sharing what the business delivers, and how it delivers it, is an important part of connecting teams internally and communicating externally.
“My role is about telling the story of what the team does, the projects delivered, the relationships built and the progress we’ve made as a business.” — Natasha Fisher, Marketing & Business Development Manager
That storytelling helps ensure the hard work happening across the business is visible and understood.
The Strategy Day reinforced just how important collaboration, communication and shared understanding are to LST’s continued success. Every department plays a role, and every individual contributes to the overall outcome.
As we move into the year ahead, we’re looking forward to progressing ongoing projects, starting new ones, and continuing to work closely with our clients, partners and suppliers.
Here’s to another positive, productive year ahead.
